The National Institute of Transport (NIT) was made into an independent college or university by the National Institute of Transport Act, No. 24 of 1982, Cap. 187 Revised Edition 2009. It is fully approved by the National Council for Technical Education (NACTE) and has the Registration number REG/EOS/009 of 2002.
